Baage Bahu
Located about 5 kilometers from the city center, Bahu Fort stands majestically on a rocky cliff along the left bank of the Tawi River. Believed to be the oldest fort in the city, it was originally built over 3,000 years ago by Raja Bahulochan. The fort was later renovated and expanded by the Dogra rulers, adding to its architectural grandeur.
Within the fort lies the renowned Bahu Temple, also known as Bave Wali Mata Mandir, dedicated to Goddess Kali. This temple holds immense religious significance, attracting large crowds of devotees, especially on Tuesdays and Sundays, which are considered auspicious days. Surrounding the fort is the beautiful Bagh-e-Bahu, a vast terraced garden that offers a scenic retreat for visitors while enhancing the fort's picturesque appeal.
